Most commercial cosmetic products on the market today are dangerous and toxic. They contain heavy metals and toxic synthetic chemicals. The effects of the ingredients can be more than just skin deep. You have to go to a health food store or purchase through a special company to buy the toxic free, natural stuff. You may pay a little more but it is well worth it.

You Must Educate Yourself
If you know what heavy metals and synthetic chemicals to avoid then reading the ingredient labels will make purchasing cosmetics so much easier. That is if you even care what you put on your face and skin.
Researchers at the University of California, Berkeley’s School of Public Health detected lead, cadmium, chromium, aluminum and five other metals in 32 different lipsticks and lip glosses commonly found in drugstores and department stores. These toxic chemicals are endocrine disrupters which can possibly lead to cancer, hormone disruptions, learning disabilities and alot of other illnesses.
According to an article on Natural News-Aileen Lucero, Acting National Coordinator of the EcoWaste Coalition in Manila, the Philippines, has raised concerns that cosmetic chemical toxins and heavy metals affect both mother and baby. She thinks this may be part of the reason why umbilical cord blood from birthing mothers contains up to 300 contaminants.
To prover her point, EcoWaste had some members scatter into outer Manila, buying up cosmetic samples from different manufacturers and bringing them in for heavy metal analysis. EcoWaste discovered that all of them contained traces of heavy metals, but some even exceeded the limits on heavy metals in cosmetics set by ASEAN (Association of South East Asian Nations).
